A Community Centre Dedicated to Spiritual Development, Education and Community Wellbeing
Zawiyah Hadiqa-tuz-Zahra is a registered UK charity serving Frizinghall, Bradford through inclusive programmes focused on education, spiritual development, mental wellbeing and community connection.
Why We Exist
The Problem
Across our community, many individuals and families undergo challenges that go unseen on the surface
In an age of spiritual decline, holistic solutions are rarely proposed as the answer
Urgent Needs
Challenges
- 01 Social Isolation
- 02 Youth Disengagement
- 03 Rising Mental Health Pressures
- 04 Limited Access To Values-Based Education
- 05 A Lack Of Safe, Culturally-Aware Community Spaces
Many in our community — particularly the elderly, new mothers and those facing hardship — find themselves cut off from meaningful human connection. Without a space to gather, share and be heard, isolation quietly takes its toll on mental and spiritual health.

The Sufi Lodge
What is a Zawiyah?
The Arabic word zawiyah literally means "corner," but historically it came to refer to a lodge, centre, or retreat associated with Sufi teaching and practice. Across the Muslim world, zawiyahs have served as places where seekers gather around a teacher or a spiritual path in order to cultivate sincerity, discipline, remembrance, and good character.

Testimonials
Community Voices
A few weeks back, my friend and I stopped by what we thought was a mosque, but it was actually a spirituality-focused community centre. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming.

The zawiyah is a peaceful and supportive place for anyone seeking spiritual grounding. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and sincere, making it an ideal space for reflection and community connection. It’s a truly uplifting environment where people can find both comfort and guidance.

The Naqshbandi Haqqani Zawiyah is a truly peaceful and spiritually uplifting place. From the moment you enter, you feel an atmosphere filled with tranquillity, love, and sincere remembrance of Allah. The legacy and teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani (q) are deeply honoured, and the guidance of Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adil al-Rabbani (q) continues to illuminate hearts and strengthen faith. There is a genuine sense of brotherhood, humility, and compassion, making everyone feel welcome. A beautiful space for dhikr, reflection, and spiritual growth. Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace, guidance, and a strong spiritual connection.

This community centre is a beacon of light for Bradford and its surrounding areas. It has transformed the area by turning a virtually desolate building into a lively hub welcoming people from all walks of life, ethnicity and religion to benefit from spiritual teachings and take part in promoting social wellbeing. Many have been touched by the impact of this organisation and I'm really excited to see the long term effects of the Zawiyah given their robust plans and genuine concern for the community.
